Team Uganda: Clinic Day 2
As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. (Photo credit: Kennedi Faber)
We began the day early with breakfast at 6:00 am, and were on the road to our new remote clinic site by 7:00 am. We spent the morning driving through the Ugandan countryside while watching the children walking to school in their uniforms. When we arrived at the village, there were some 400+ people waiting for us. The lines wrapped all the way around the church building and then some! There were lots of waves and smiles from both those inside the vans and out. Once the team set up the clinic we got to work caring for the people God sent to us today. There were patients with malaria, mumps, back pain, amputated limbs, cerebral palsy, wounds and many other conditions. Dr. Clint extracted over 60 teeth in the dental area, and we saw over 180 patients total for the day.
There were as many patients today that we weren’t able to see than what we did see. Fortunately, we are returning to the same site tomorrow to care for those people, and surely more.
A big shout out to our entire team. Though are number is small our spirit and determination is mighty! The team has bonded and works very hard to serve each other, as well as our new Ugandan friends.
It is a blessing to serve God by serving His people, and it is a privilege to be in this place doing this work.
