2021 Outreach Team Dates

OneWorld Health is taking all necessary and vigorous precautions to protect our trip participants, as well as the patients we serve around the world, against any effects regarding COVID-19. OneWorld Health will update this webpage when new trip dates are finalized.

Cost:

The total base cost will be approximately $1,900 + cost of airfare. The base cost will cover lodging, transportation, meals and related clinical expenses. OneWorld Health is responsible for all flight bookings and team flight itineraries. Volunteers will be responsible for cost of vaccinations and the $10 visa fee into Nicaragua (not applicable for Costa Rica or Honduras) . We recommend that you bring $50-$100 for additional travel/souvenir shopping expenses.

Lodging:

Nicaraguan teams will travel to the assigned service region (Chinandega, Sébaco, Tola or Jinotega) and spending the week at a OneWorld Health partnered hotel.

Costa Rican teams partner with in country host, CFCI, to conduct outreach clinics in communities in San Jose. The team will spend the week at a OneWorld Health partnered hotel in San Jose.

Honduran teams partner with in country host, Serve Hope International, to conduct outreach clinics in communities in Siguatepeque. The team will spend the week at a OneWorld Health partnered hotel in Siguatepeque.

Fun Day:

On the final day, the volunteers will stay at the beach at a OneWorld Health partnered resort for a day of fun in the sun on the coastline.

Roles Needed:

All students are welcome

Non-Medical Volunteers

• 18 or older
• Able to lift 50 pounds
• Able to sit/stand on hard surfaces for long periods of time
• Able to walk a mile

Medical Professionals
Your application will not be considered until we have received high-resolution, legible copies of the following:

• Resume/CV
• Undergrad diploma
• Medical + Specialty diploma(s)
• Updated license from the internet, with footnote
• Marriage license (if name is different than qualifications)

OneWorld Health works within the restraints and requirements of the ministries of health in Nicaragua and Uganda and submits all medical qualifications for review. We appreciate your help making sure we uphold our positive reputation, which will allow us to work in these communities for generations to come.

Applications will be considered incomplete and not reviewed until all items are received.

Fees:

• $100 application fee (Please do not press “submit” more than once. It will charge you twice!)
• $10 visa fee for Nicaragua
