Te Amo Nicaragua

Angelica is a cutie. Her big brown eyes melted the hearts of the OneWorld Health staff in Sébaco when her mom brought her in for a stomach ache. During her check-up, we were happy to see that she was healthy, but concerned that she was behind on her growth chart and underweight for her age. Talking with her mother, we learned that times have been hard for Angelica’s family lately, and they’re getting even harder with the current political and economic crisis. Sadly, it’s not a unique story, and it’s one that will become more common as Nicaragua’s unrest continues. This is why we are so thankful for our generous partner donations which allow us to include children’s vitamins with every pediatric consult in the highest impacted, rural areas. Coaching parents on the kind of nutrition growing kids need, along with a simple vitamin supplement, can help children like Angelica stay on track for a happy, healthy life.
