Masindi Kitara Medical Center (MKMC) opened its doors to its outpatient department and started serving the community of Masindi in January 2011. We quickly recognized the need to provide more comprehensive medical services. A plan was put in motion to implement Inpatient, Labor & Delivery, Surgical and Diagnostic services. Today the medical center is a regional referral hospital that provides a full scope of services ranging from:

  • Primary care to complex surgical procedures
  • Performed by trained nationals
  • At a price point that is affordable to the overwhelming majority of the population.

Through our partnership with the Uganda Ministry of Health, MKMC is able to provide free antenatal services, immunizations and HIV treatment. We remain committed to providing quality healthcare services to the people of the region and we are committed to addressing future needs as they arise.

The outpatient department at our Masindi Kitara site consistently serves over 1,300 people per month. That is a 600% increase in healthcare provision in the local community since 2010.
