The Bulima Kitara Medical Center (BKMC) opened its doors to the community in February 2016. On opening day, patients were waiting to see a doctor and for the first time, they were able to be seen by a medical professional in their own community. The BKMC is a comprehensive outpatient facility that provides a full scope of primary care and diagnostic services which are delivered by trained nationals at a price point that is affordable to the overwhelming majority of the population. The facility is a satellite clinic of MKMC and benefits from the ability to refer more complex cases to MKMC.

We are looking for hard-working individuals who believe change is possible-not just for a week, but for a lifetime. OneWorld Health's short-term medical teams are a vital component of our long-term approach to improving the quality of healthcare in developing communities.

Four times a year, OneWorld Health sends teams of medical and non-medical volunteers to serve the communities surrounding our project sites in Central America and East Africa.
