The Bulima Kitara Medical Center (BKMC) opened its doors to the community in February 2016. On opening day, patients were waiting to see a doctor and for the first time, they were able to be seen by a medical professional in their own community. The BKMC is a comprehensive outpatient facility that provides a full scope of primary care and diagnostic services which are delivered by trained nationals at a price point that is affordable to the overwhelming majority of the population. The facility is a satellite clinic of MKMC and benefits from the ability to refer more complex cases to MKMC.
